For the third time in the past four years North Carolina has been named the top state for business by CNBC. In 2021 and 2024 North Carolina was ranked the second best state by CNBC’s rankings, narrowly losing to Virginia both years.
CNBC’s report on North Carolina cites low taxes, strong workforce, and overall economic strength driving North Carolina’s top ranking. The report also references the JetZero assembly factory and Amazon data center investment we covered last month. Earlier this week Citigroup announced an expansion to Charlotte, with 700 new jobs being brought to the city.
The forward-thinking conservative leadership of the North Carolina House has positioned North Carolina to weather economic uncertainty, whether from natural disasters or recessions. The low tax, freedom-oriented approach of the last 14 years has kept North Carolina competitive and attracting more and more investments.
